Welcome to Adventures on the Run 🌍

Hey, I’m Alex — a storyteller, trail runner, and creative spirit who believes adventure has the power to change us. This space was born from the miles I’ve run, the places I’ve explored, and the stories that have helped me make sense of it all.

By day, I work with an incredible company called G Adventures, where I help empower people to explore the world and change lives through the power of travel. It’s work that constantly reminds me how exploration — when done with heart and purpose — can transform not just the traveler, but the communities we visit and the planet we share.

Adventures on the Run is where I explore the intersection of travel, running, and creativity — and how each one teaches us to live with more curiosity, courage, and heart. It’s a mix of personal stories, reflections from the road (and trail), and honest notes about what it means to live a meaningful, movement-filled life.

You’ll find themes like:

  • Adventure & Travel: exploring the world through purpose-driven, small-group adventures
  • Running & Movement: lessons from the trail — endurance, mindset, and presence
  • Creativity & Storytelling: finding your voice and turning experience into expression
  • Wellness & Balance: nature, recovery, and the art of slowing down
  • Authentic Living: reflections on grief, growth, and belonging

At its core, this blog is about finding meaning in motion — the way movement connects us to ourselves, to others, and to the world.

Whether you’re here for inspiration, a dose of trail talk, or a quiet moment of reflection between adventures — welcome. I’m so glad you found your way here.

Who is Alex?

The low down on me is that: I run, travel, and tell stories about what it means to live boldly and meaningfully in motion. This is where I share reflections from the trail, lessons from the road, and little reminders that we’re all just learning as we go.

Creators take on Colombia with G Adventures

Nine days in Colombia with a group of women I barely knew turned into a journey of culture, connection, laughter, and the kind of conversations you only have when you’re miles from home. What started as a storytelling project became a reminder of how travel dissolves walls and builds community.

We didn’t just capture stories — we became part of one.

Why I Choose a Plant-Based Life (And Why It’s Not About Perfection)

Why I Choose a Plant-Based Life (And Why It’s Not About Perfection)

A documentary opened my eyes to how deeply our food system impacts the planet, animals, and the people who grow our food. I went vegan overnight, then slowly softened as travel taught me that food isn’t just ethics—it’s culture, identity, and survival. Today, I still choose a plant-based lifestyle, but not from a place of perfection or labels. It’s simply how I opt out of a system built on waste, exploitation, and environmental harm.

This isn’t a call for everyone to “go vegan.” It’s an invitation to rethink the systems that shape what we eat, to explore small shifts that feel accessible, and to recognize that some of the most sustainable choices are also the simplest and cheapest.

It’s about alignment, curiosity, and compassion—for ourselves, for others, and for the planet we all share.

Six Months on the Road Without Ringo

Six months after losing Ringo, I find myself back on the road — same van, same sunsets, just a different co-pilot. Grief, I’m learning, doesn’t fade with time; it simply changes shape.

And somewhere between the stillness and the motion, I can still feel him here.
